Alejandra Boudreaux, a 31-year-old woman, is the primary suspect in a violent home invasion that led to the death of 43-year-old Brandon Durham last week in Las Vegas. Initially, investigations into Boudreaux revealed little information about her background, but further digging uncovered a history of name changes and a lengthy criminal record.
Name Change and Background Investigation Court documents reveal that Boudreaux changed her name from Robert Boudreaux-Williams to Alejandra Boudreaux about 10 years ago in Broward County, Florida. Since then, Boudreaux's criminal history has expanded across multiple states.
Boudreaux’s Criminal RecordBoudreaux's criminal history dates back to 2017 when she was arrested for battery and trespassing charges in Florida. She was placed on probation but was arrested again in 2019 for violating the terms of that probation. In April of this year, she was arrested in Seattle for kicking a Port of Seattle officer after being asked to leave the airport. Just months later, in August, Boudreaux was involved in a bar altercation in which she tried to strike a bartender and a customer with a bottle. After being released on her own recognizance, she failed to appear for her court date, leading to an active arrest warrant issued in September.
The Las Vegas Home InvasionBoudreaux resurfaced in Las Vegas in early November and allegedly broke into the home of Brandon Durham near Sunset Park. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Durham called 911 after an altercation broke out between him and Boudreaux. Officer Alexander Bookman arrived at the scene to find Durham and Boudreaux in a violent struggle over a knife. Tragically, Officer Bookman shot and killed Durham during the confrontation.
Boudreaux reportedly expressed suicidal intentions to the police, saying she wanted them to shoot her. This disturbing statement was included in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police report.
Felony Charges and Legal ProceedingsFollowing the tragic event, Boudreaux has been charged with several serious felonies, including:
Home invasion with a firearm or deadly weapon
Domestic violence assault with a deadly weapon
Child abuse
Disregard for the safety of personal property
Though the report suggested probable cause for an involuntary manslaughter charge, it was not formally filed. Boudreaux is currently in custody and was scheduled to appear in court on November 18, 2024. However, she refused to be transported to court, prompting the judge to order that she be brought to her hearing on November 25, 2024, by any means necessary.
Boudreaux's case remains under investigation as authorities continue to build a case against her.
