Sheriff’s deputies in Baton Rouge arrested therapist William Nicholas Abraham, 60, following accusations of inappropriate touching by an 11-year-old client during a counseling session at Abraham’s office on United Plaza Drive. According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, the boy claimed Abraham groped him on Feb. 3 2015, while Abraham denied any inappropriate contact, stating that he only put his arm around the child at the end of the session.
Abraham, a well-known local therapist and former Catholic priest with experience in contemporary Christian rock music, has been described as “absolutely innocent” by his attorney, who is determined to clear Abraham's name and reputation. The therapist, operating in private practice, has faced scrutiny and speculation surrounding the allegations.
During interviews with deputies, the boy alleged that Abraham instructed him not to disclose the events of the therapy session. The child has since switched to a new therapist. Despite the serious nature of the accusations, the case did not lead to official sentence due to insufficient evidence.
Following his arrest, Abraham was booked into Parish Prison on one count of molestation of a juvenile and was later released on bond.
