Courney Reese Murder Caught on Ring Camera

Courtney Reese, a 32-year-old mother of four, tragically lost her life in a shooting near Cleveland Avenue in Atlanta. Her family is devastated, especially since Reese's younger sister also fell victim to gun violence a few months prior. The incident took place on Springside Drive, situated south of Cleveland Avenue in southeast Atlanta, and the heartbreaking scene unfolded on the night of Tuesday, August 20. Reese was found with multiple gunshot wounds, and despite the efforts of officers who responded around 9 p.m., she tragically succumbed to her injuries.

A home security camera captured the chilling moment of the shooting: A tall figure dressed in all white, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, approached Reese outside a home. In the video, Reese is heard pleading, "Please. I don't..." as the assailant raised his hands and fired multiple shots at point-blank range. Even after Reese collapsed, the shooter continued to fire, discharging at least 10 shots before fleeing down the driveway.

As the investigation unfolds, no suspect has been named, but Reese's family believes it may be a man she was previously involved with and desperately hopes for justice before another innocent life is taken. Reese leaves behind four children: three daughters aged 13, 9, and 6, as well as an 11-year-old son. The family is currently raising funds for her funeral services, and donations and support are welcomed.

To assist in solving this tragic case and seeking justice for Courtney Reese, community members are urged to provide any information they may have by contacting Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS(8477) or submitting anonymous tips via the online form at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org. Information leading to the resolution of the case may result in a reward of up to $2,000.

This devastating loss comes shortly after Reese's sister, Sametria Edwards-McCord, was also a victim of gun violence in May. Sametria was fatally shot in Decatur, and despite the identification of a suspect, no arrest has been made in that case. The family continues to endure immense pain and loss, highlighting the urgent need to address and prevent such senseless acts of violence within our communities. Let us stand together, support those affected by these tragedies, and work towards a safer, more peaceful future for all.
