A Florida woman, Tara Alexis Sykes, 36, has been arrested on charges of attempted homicide and aggravated child abuse after allegedly using an online video game to manipulate a 10-year-old girl into attempting to kill a 2-month-old boy. This shocking case, described by Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons as one of the most disturbing he has encountered in his lengthy career, unfolded in Pensacola, Florida.

According to an arrest report , the infant boy suffered a skull fracture when he was dropped on his head. The investigation revealed that Sykes utilized the chat feature in the online game Roblox to coerce the girl into torturing and harming the infant.

The incident came to light when officials at the Gulf Coast Kids House contacted law enforcement on October 17 regarding the 2-month-old infant's injuries inflicted by the 10-year-old girl under Sykes' instructions.

Details emerged that Sykes instructed the girl on different methods to kill the infant and even directed her on how to harm the temporary guardians she was living with. Terrified and coerced, the girl attempted to follow Sykes' orders, but she was unable to carry them out fully.

Sykes, originally from Honolulu and now residing in Pensacola, is currently incarcerated without bond. Court records indicate a prior arrest earlier in the year for crimes related to a child. The ongoing investigation revealed horrifying instructions given by Sykes, including drowning the infant and harming the guardians.
