A sick Florida youth basketball coach, identified as Carl Lombardo, 58, has been charged with multiple disturbing offenses involving young boys. Lombardo, who served as a youth basketball coach at an Ocala Boys and Girls Club, stands accused of molesting several children during a troubling sleepover incident. Reports reveal that Lombardo not only committed these heinous acts but also made a chilling offer to buy the children from their parents for $5,000.
According to information from WCJB-TV News, the coach allegedly held the children at his home against their will and even coerced one 15-year-old to write a note to his parents, expressing a desire to stay with Lombardo. This note, believed to have been written under duress, was part of the coach's scheme to prevent the child from returning home.
Following the intervention of deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on August 31, the children were safely returned to their families. At this point, the youngsters disclosed disturbing details, alleging that Lombardo had touched them inappropriately and had taken nude photographs of them. Subsequently, an investigation was initiated, leading to the discovery of child pornography images on Lombardo's cell phone.
Online records confirm that Lombardo faces nine charges, including possession of child pornography, molestation of children under 16 years old, and human trafficking. Despite the accused coach's claims of a spotless reputation and working closely with local schools, his actions have elicited shock and disgust among neighbors and the community at large.
Vanessa Velez, a neighbor, expressed her unease, stating, "You could feel the vibe off him. My husband from day one said it — he seems like a creep." As Lombardo remains held without bail, the community continues to grapple with the troubling nature of these allegations and the impact on the young victims involved.
