In a disturbing turn of events, a 37-year-old mother, Brittney Leigh Hensley, and her 10-year-old daughter reportedly entered into a unaliving pact that led to the child taking a significant number of pills. The incident unfolded at an extended stay Studio 6 motel in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, where emergency responders found the girl unresponsive in possession of pill capsules and empty prescription medication bottles linked to Hensley.

Paramedics acted swiftly to transport the child to a hospital, where she required intubation and was eventually airlifted to another medical facility. Fortunately, the young girl regained consciousness and informed authorities about the suicide pact she had with her mother. Hensley, however, had not taken any pills herself, leading to a distressing situation as her daughter remained unconscious.

The girl is now under the care and protection of Mississippi Child Protective Services as she continues to recover. Hensley's actions did not end with the incident, as she attempted to evade authorities and fled to Alabama. Following her capture by the Huntsville Police Department, she was extradited back to the Jackson County Jail and is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.

The timeline of events underscores the gravity of the situation, with Hensley facing charges of aggravated child abuse for her alleged involvement in the suicide pact that endangered her daughter's life. The case serves as a stark reminder of the need for mental health support and vigilance in safeguarding vulnerable individuals, particularly children, from harm. The legal process will unfold as Hensley's fate remains uncertain, pending legal representation.
