An Ohio mother, Haley Marie Ryan, 21, has been arrested and charged with one count of endangering children by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest came after a viral video surfaced on social media showing the mother engaged in what appeared to be extreme child abuse.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received several complaints and notifications about the video, describing it as "disturbing" content of a mother screaming at and hitting her child. The footage shows the woman bending over a crib, shouting at the baby, and seemingly hitting the child repeatedly.
Chief Deputy Matt Haines described the video as "disturbing" and stated that the sheriff's office is considering additional charges as the investigation progresses. The child in the video, who is less than a year old, is said to be safe and in the custody of Montgomery County Children’s Services.
