Oklahoma Woman Arrested in Connection with Giving Her Child To A Drug Dealer While Buying Meth, Child Has Not Been Seen In Years

In a distressing turn of events, a 39-year-old woman from Oklahoma, Ashley Rowland, has been arrested under charges of child abandonment in connection with the disappearance of her young daughter over two years ago. Reports indicate that Rowland allegedly handed her then-2-year-old daughter to a man involved in drug trafficking in April 2022. The authorities, including agents from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, were involved in investigating the case. Despite efforts to locate the missing child, she remains unaccounted for.

Rowland initially misled officials, claiming the child was with her father in Georgia, but later confessed during an interview with detectives that she had given her daughter to an individual known as Carlos. She expressed uncertainty about the man's identity and revealed that he was selling methamphetamine at the time. According to Rowland, after handing over her daughter, she had not seen the child since. Complicating matters further, Carlos was said to be planning to travel to Mexico and did not possess the necessary identification documents for the child.

Authorities revealed that the missing child would now be around 5 years old, but her current whereabouts or condition remain unknown. The Moore Police Department is actively investigating the case, pursuing all leads to locate the child and ensure her safety. Oklahoma DHS officials described the situation as "heartbreaking and unimaginable."

Ashley Rowland is currently in custody at the Oklahoma County Detention Center, with bond set at $3,000.
