A mother and stepfather in Texas, Destiny Culvahouse and Terry Robinson Jr., have been arrested and are behind bars in connection with the death of their 5-year-old son, Zaydon Robinson. The young boy was found unresponsive with "massive bruises" on his abdomen, buttocks, and extremities, indicating signs of foul play.

The tragic events unfolded on September 27 when paramedics responded to a call of a child not breathing at the family's apartment in Texarkana. Despite efforts to revive him, Zaydon was pronounced dead at the hospital. Subsequent investigations revealed extensive injuries on the child, leading to the arrest of Terry Robinson Jr. on a capital murder charge and Destiny Culvahouse on a charge of injury to a child causing death by omission.

According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, Destiny Culvahouse informed the police that the morning of the incident, Terry Robinson Jr. had disciplined Zaydon for "stealing" before leaving to go grocery shopping and attend to other errands. Destiny claimed she found Zaydon not breathing around midday and delayed calling 911, contradicting dispatch logs that showed a significant delay in reporting the incident.

During his interview with detectives, Terry Robinson Jr. initially denied hitting the victim but later admitted to using physical discipline on the child with a belt because he was upset that Zaydon was "not listening." He also confessed to taking Zaydon to the bathtub in an attempt to warm him up after realizing the severity of the situation.

Both Robinson and Culvahouse were taken into custody and remain at the Bi-State Detention Center. Destiny Culvahouse's bond is set at $1 million, while Terry Robinson Jr.'s bail is at $5 million. The heartbreaking case underscores the importance of protecting vulnerable children and ensuring justice is served for the innocent victims of child abuse and neglect.
