Shocking Discovery: Day Care Owner and Associate Arrested with Drugs, Guns, and Cash While Children Were Present

In a shocking turn of events, Jessica Cooper, the owner of The Little Peoples LFCC 2 day care, and Cameron Christmas, her associate, were apprehended on drug and firearm charges. The arrest occurred during a raid conducted by narcotics investigators in the midst of operating hours. Disturbingly, four children were present in the facility at the time. This incident exposes a grave breach of trust and raises serious concerns about the safety and well-being of children in day care facilities.

Police discovered a hidden drug den within the premises, containing a significant quantity of cocaine, crack, heroin, and illegal firearms, alongside a substantial sum of money. Cooper and Christmas have been charged with various offenses, including drug possession, child endangerment, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both individuals have a history of prior run-ins with the law, suggesting an ongoing partnership in criminal activities.

The inspection conducted in September 2023 also revealed noncompliance issues concerning communication with parents, outdoor areas, and the organization of children's files. This raises questions about the day care's overall adherence to regulations and the safety measures in place for the children under their care.

Authorities have not disclosed the specific trigger for the search warrant, but Christmas has a record of previous drug-related arrests. The community must demand a thorough investigation into the operation and supervision of day care centers to prevent such alarming incidents from reoccurring. The well-being of children should always be prioritized, and instances like these serve as a stark reminder of the vigilance required in choosing a safe and reputable daycare facility for our loved ones.
