Chicago’s west side was rocked on Wednesday evening after a man was killed in broad daylight while streaming live on social media. Authorities have identified the victim as 42-year-old Kevin Watson, also known by the nickname “Tugg.”
According to the Chicago Police, the shooting occurred on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, around 6 p.m. in the area of Madison and LeClaire. Responding officers found Watson on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say Watson was sitting in his car broadcasting live on Facebook when two to three armed offenders approached. Police allege the suspects demanded Watson’s chain. At first, he resisted, but as he told the suspects to take his chain, they opened fire.
The shooting, partially captured on Watson’s livestream, has sent shockwaves through the community, where he was reportedly well known. At this time, police have not identified the suspects, and no arrests have been made. The case has been assigned to Area 4 detectives, and investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.
