Louisiana Mother Charged with First-Degree Murder in Shooting Death of 1-Year-Old Daughter

Kristin Bass is charged with the death of her 1-year-old daughter on New Year's Day.

A Louisiana mother is accused of shooting her 1-year-old child before making shocking claims that she sent her child to God. Kristin Bass, 28, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Parish jail on Friday. According to Law and Crime, Bass is charged with first-degree murder.

Bass resided in a home with her two children and the children’s father, Bradley Moss.

However, on New Year’s Day, Moss hears a loud noise that leads him to investigate, in which he discovers Bass holding a gun and his 1-year-old daughter Acelynn Moss was shot. The couple's remaining child, a 2-year-old girl, had been crying for help, screaming, “Help me, daddy.

While speaking with the media, Bradley Moss states, “I almost lost two babies, I lost one because her mother wanted to send her to God”.

During the investigation, the mother showed minimal remorse, stating, “I just sent our baby to God”. The father also reported that Bass attempted to attack the remaining child as well before the father came to the rescue. The two-year-old is currently in the state's custody as Bass is charged with her child's murder. Currently, she remains in jail on a $10 million bond.
