A tragic and disturbing case has emerged from Oldsmar, Florida, where 26-year-old Tessica Britt has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for allegedly causing the death of her 3-month-old daughter.
On December 13, 2024, Pinellas County deputies responded to Brittās home at 3580 Meriden Avenue after receiving an emergency call about an unresponsive infant. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the baby girl unconscious and quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital. Tragically, she was pronounced dead soon after.
A thorough investigation revealed devastating injuries to the infant. Medical examiners determined she suffered multiple severe brain bleeds and a significant fracture to her skull caused by blunt force trauma. Detectives identified Britt as the caregiver at the time her daughter sustained these fatal injuries.
Further shocking details surfaced when a local woman revealed that Britt had sold her babyās belongings online following the child's death. In a disturbing social media post, the buyer stated Britt sold her a baby car seat, claiming her daughter was too small and premature to use it. Britt allegedly fabricated a detailed story, saying the hospital advised her to buy another car seatādespite the fact that the child had already passed away.
After months of investigation, Britt was arrested on March 6, 2025, and remains in custody at the Pinellas County Jail. The community is deeply shaken as they grapple with the severity of this case and mourn the tragic loss of a young life.
