A Tennessee hairdresser, Mychelle Ray, 31, is facing charges of aggravated assault and false imprisonment for allegedly holding a pair of scissors near a customer's face after demanding an extra $50 payment at Luv My Hair Salon in Memphis. The incident occurred on September 13, where the customer had initially paid a $50 deposit and $410 through Zelle at the salon. However, during the appointment, Ray demanded an additional $50 from the customer.

When the customer questioned this demand, Ray reportedly became irate, cursing and yelling at the customer. According to the arrest affidavit, Ray allegedly said to the customer, "Don't move, because I got these scissors next to your face," and "Bโ€”-, you not going nowhere until you pay me." This escalated into a situation where Ray locked the door and blocked the customer's path, effectively holding her against her will.

Despite being locked in, the customer managed to call the police for help. Eventually, she was released, and Ray was later booked into the Shelby County Jail on Wednesday. After posting $7,500 bail, Ray was released and is scheduled to appear in court on October 14. This disturbing incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of handling payment disputes professionally and avoiding resorting to violence or threats in any situation.
