LAGRANGE, GEORGIA - Amid a domestic altercation inside a Georgia motel room, a woman is accused of deliberately pouring hot chicken grease onto her boyfriend, causing severe burns to his head and upper body.

Authorities in LaGrange, Georgia, have arrested 43-year-old Olympia Denise Laster on a felony charge of aggravated battery with family violence after responding to a violent domestic incident that unfolded around 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The incident occurred at the Stay Lodge motel on Whitesville Street, an extended stay facility roughly 65 miles southwest of Atlanta.

According to the LaGrange Police Department, officers arrived on scene after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. Inside the motel unit, they found a 46-year-old man suffering from extensive burns to his head, neck, shoulders, and back. Investigators determined that the victim was seated near the kitchen when Laster, described as his "live-in girlfriend," intentionally poured a pot of hot chicken grease on him during the course of a heated dispute.

The victim was immediately transported to a burn center in the Atlanta area where he remains hospitalized and in recovery. Police did not specify what sparked the attack and have not confirmed whether the argument escalated to physical violence prior to the grease being thrown.

As the case develops, few additional details have been made public. The LaGrange Police Department confirmed the incident is now being handled by their criminal investigation division, and further updates are expected as the inquiry progresses.

Laster is currently being held without bond in the Troup County Jail. As of this report, her case has not yet appeared on the public court docket. A review of her criminal history shows that Laster pleaded no contest to a charge of criminal trespass with family violence in April 2024. She also pleaded guilty to a DUI charge following a separate arrest later that same year.

Police have not commented on whether her past offenses may be considered in the current investigation.
