A woman’s raw and emotional Facebook post is gaining traction after she recounted being violently attacked at a nightclub while simply trying to offer advice about drink safety.

Ashley Plant, a mother of two, said the night started like any other. She went to work at a local club “feeling pretty,” not knowing she would end up in the emergency room with facial injuries and a chipped tooth.

According to Plant, she briefly disagreed with a security guard at the entrance but brushed it off. Later, while approaching the bar, she noticed a woman dancing near an unattended drink. Concerned for the woman’s safety, Plant leaned in and asked, “Babygirl, this your drink?” When the woman said yes, Ashley advised her to cover it and not turn her back — a safety tip in light of rising concerns over drink-spiking incidents.

Instead of appreciation, the woman rolled her eyes. Plant says she moved on and began chatting with the DJ and another dancer about how the night’s energy felt “off.”

That’s when things escalated. The same woman approached and aggressively questioned Plant: “WTF you just said?” Ashley responded, clarifying she wasn’t talking to her. The woman then accused her of “talking s*** all night.” Before Ashley could react further, she was struck in the face with what she believed was either a glass bottle or cup.

“I immediately began gushing blood,” she wrote. “This is a random girl I don’t know and never had dealings with.” She believes the initial altercation with the security guard may have played a role.

Plant says she was rushed to the ER, where she received stitches and treatment for a chipped tooth and facial lacerations.

“This didn’t have to go down like this,” she said in her post. “She could’ve just run me the fade straight up. You ain’t have to hit me with nothing.”

But Ashley’s message went more profound than the attack. She opened up about her long-standing efforts to leave the club scene. Despite being overqualified for many jobs, she says her criminal record keeps her from employment opportunities.

“I’ve passed interviews with flying colors. But I can’t pass my background check,” she shared. “I only work for the club because I got two kids to feed.”

The pain of the attack, she said, wasn’t just physical. “I’m mad because I don’t want my kids to see me like this. It’s a small thing to a giant… but damn, I’m hurt for what my kids have to see.”

Ashley Plant’s post has sparked an outpouring of support online, with many calling for better protection and resources for women trying to turn their lives around.
