In a gut-wrenching case that shook the community, Gloria Williams, the mother of 8-year-old Kendrick Lee, has pleaded guilty to two charges of injury to a child in connection with her son's tragic death. The heartbreaking events unfolded on Oct. 24, 2021, when authorities discovered Kendrick's decomposing body in their apartment at 3535 Green Crest.
The horrific details emerged as Kendrick's oldest brother, only 15 at the time, made a distressing call to 911, revealing that his brother had been dead for over a year. Upon arriving at the scene, Harris County deputies found the remaining three brothers โ aged 15, 10, and 7 โ in dire conditions, surrounded by filth and neglect. The eldest of the siblings recounted the terrifying ordeal that led to Kendrick's untimely demise.
According to the chilling testimonies, Williams' partner, Brian Coulter, mercilessly beat Kendrick to death, refusing to stop even when the young boy was motionless. The 7-year-old brother recounted how he watched in horror as Coulter repeatedly kicked and hit Kendrick, ultimately ceasing when his brother stopped blinking. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences confirmed that Kendrick had sustained multiple blunt force injuries.
Following the fatal assault, the brothers were left in isolation in the apartment for months, with Kendrick's body decaying in the vicinity. Coulter was swiftly sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for his abhorrent acts.
