Woman from Camden County Charged with Attempted Murder for Allegedly Hiring Hitman to Kill Ex-Boyfriend and Daughter.

Gloucester Township, New Jersey- A Camden County woman is behind bars after authorities say she tried to orchestrate the murder of her ex-boyfriend and his teenage daughter. Jaclyn Diiorio, 26, was arrested earlier this month after allegedly offering money to a confidential informant to carry out the killings.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation began on April 3 when officials received information about a potential murder-for-hire scheme. Diiorio is accused of using the dating app Tinder to connect with a man who turned out to be working with law enforcement. She allegedly offered him $12,000 to kill her 53-year-old ex-boyfriend, a member of the Philadelphia Police Department, and his 19-year-old daughter.

Authorities say Diiorio offered a $500 advance during a meeting with the informant on April 4 and promised to pay the remainder of the money in installments. Shortly after that meeting, Gloucester Township Police arrested her. During the arrest, officers found Diiorio in possession of a bottle containing pills believed to be alprazolam, a prescription anti-anxiety medication commonly known as Xanax.

The intended victim told investigators that he and Diiorio had ended their relationship on March 6, less than a month before she allegedly launched the plot to have him and his daughter killed.

Diiorio is now facing serious legal consequences. Prosecutors have charged her with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and one count of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance. She is currently being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility.

A detention hearing is scheduled for April 9, during which the court will determine whether Diiorio should remain in custody as the case proceeds.

Authorities have not commented on a possible motive behind the alleged plot, but the investigation remains ongoing. Law enforcement officials have urged anyone with additional information to come forward.
