In a distressing child neglect case out of Oklahoma, shocking new details have emerged involving two young boys living in deplorable conditions within their family's apartment. Dakota Rain Dodd, 24, and Aubrianna Jewelyn Willow Freeman, 22, each face accusations of five counts of child neglect, according to Oklahoma County Detention Center records. The original police report, which was initially redacted, has now been revealed in its entirety, painting a harrowing picture of the environment the children endured.
The disturbing scene inside the apartment on Greenvale Road in Oklahoma City was described in the unredacted report. Upon responding to a welfare check, officers encountered an overwhelming smell of feces as they entered the apartment, where the boys were found naked and covered in feces. Handprints in the same brown substance adorned the smeared walls, with feces on the floors and windows as well. The room held minimal furniture, with only a children's slide present, and the only bed frame found was devoid of a mattress.
Dodd and Freeman were taken into custody on charges of child neglect, with reports indicating that the two boys were locked up for extended periods each day. One neighbor, deeply concerned for the children, noted witnessing the distressing living conditions and the children's pleas for help through a window.
As the legal proceedings unfold, neither defendant currently has legal representation listed in Oklahoma County court records. The cases against Dodd and Freeman are pending formal charges being presented to prosecutors by the Oklahoma County District Attorneyโs Office. With their bonds set at $250,000 each, the community remains shocked by the severity of the neglect and abuse endured by these innocent children. Stay tuned for updates on this tragic case.
