Two South Carolina Teens Charged in the Murder of Missing Teen Found in Burned Car
Two South Carolina teenagers, Malachi Pressley and Taylor Kinard, both 19, have been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of 18-year-old MyAngel Walker. Walker, who was reported missing on December 12 after failing to show up for work, was tragically found dead in a burned vehicle the following day in Greenwood County.
Details of the Crime
Authorities allege that Pressley shot Walker on the night of December 11, and Kinard assisted him in disposing of her body. Pressley has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, while Kinard faces charges of accessory after the fact. Both are being held without bond at the Johnson County Detention Center.
Police discovered Walker’s remains inside a burned car abandoned on the side of the road. Clinton Police Chief Michael Addison stated that Kinard was aware of the crime and played a role in covering it up.
A Disturbing Relationship
According to Sade Woodruff, Walker’s mother, Pressley and Walker had an on-again-off-again relationship before the incident. Woodruff urged anyone experiencing domestic abuse to seek help and leave dangerous situations if possible.
Walker’s workplace, NHC Healthcare in Clinton, raised the alarm when she failed to appear for her shift on December 12. Laurens Police Chief Heath Copeland said the investigation quickly turned from a missing person case to a homicide.
Legal Proceedings
Both suspects were denied bail during a December 14 hearing. Pressley’s next court appearance is scheduled for January 31. The investigation remains ongoing as the community mourns Walker’s tragic death.
